Cold and Unfeeling

Cold is harsh
  a wintry gust
    it bites
  chilling all it touches
  and freezing to the core

Cold is heartless
and it is too numb
to feel anything at all

I am not unfeeling
(a double negative for)
    I feel!
Words sting my heart
They erode me from the inside
It begins hot
Boiling down to a simmer
  then grows lukewarm
  and, with time
   Ice shall indeed form
   It shall spread
    and give your words truth

So to thaw my soul
I shall drench it in my lifeblood
let myself drift off
into the forever blackness
Where I shall float and feel no pain
   Where no words will follow me
    and my body shall truly be
              Cold and Unfeeling
